Photography and Videotaping

Pictures are a cherished part of weddings.  Because a wedding is a sacred occasion, we request that these procedures be followed in the taking of photographs.

Flash pictures may be taken during the processional and recessional.  No flash photographs will be taken during the service; however, timed exposures may be taken from the back of the church or the balcony in a manner which will not detract from the service.

The service may be videotaped from the balcony using only the existing lighting in the sanctuary.  Stationary video cameras or equipment may be located on the main level of the sanctuary, only with the approval by the minister, as to location.  No movement of camera equipment is to occur during the ceremony.

The following agreement and understanding is for your protection to keep your wedding sacred.  It is to be signed by your photographer and returned to the church office:

The Bride and Groom are to give this page to the photographer or individual taking photos or videotaping the wedding ceremony.  This agreement is to be returned to the Senior Minister of First Christian Church and kept on file with    wedding records.

I have read the Photography and Videotaping Guidelines for Weddings of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and agree to adhere to those guidelines in order to retain the sacredness of the wedding service.
